CME Individual Membership Application and Checklist
Obtain Membership Materials
You must obtain the following information BEFORE completing your application.
- Complete education background, including the name of the institution, the address, city and zip code.
- Information for your business history for the past 5 years, including dates of your employment, the company name, the address and telephone.
- Personal financial statement data and information: Your financial statement requirements can be met two ways: The first way is to present financial data and substantiate all numbers on your asset side of your balance sheet with backup such as statements, or appraisals. Each and every asset that you list on your balance sheet MUST be substantiated with some form of third party backup. If you are uncomfortable disclosing all of your assets, and you choose to understate your assets, please note that you are authorizing the CME to obtain credit information and if you have substantially more debt than assets, your application may be delayed or denied. There is no minimum or maximum financial requirement to be approved for membership. The CME is attempting to verify your ability to financially support your trading, so please be diligent in indicating and substantiating what you feel comfortable disclosing in order to be approved. The second way to present personal financials is to have your CPA write a letter attesting or stating that your net worth is greater than or at least an amount to cover your debt. You will not need to provide any financials other than this representation letter from your CPA. This way you can avoid listing and substantiating all or some of your assets.
- Two 2" X 2" passport quality color photographs obtained from any Kinko's or passport photo office.
- A photo copy of the first page of your passport showing your picture, name and date of issue of your passport (or) a notarized copy of your birth certificate.
- Your $1750.00 application fee. You may either cut a check to Velocity Futures, LLC. and include it in the FedEx or UPS package or elect to have it debited from your Velocity Account upon submission to the CME Membership Department.
